When the recession hits an older man loses his job and can not find another. His wife and him try to cope by starting a simple home-based business but the economy continues to deteriorate. Able to read the signs of the road ahead the couple does what they can to prepare for what they think will be similar to the Great Depression. When the economy totally falls apart their preparations provide them with much greater comfort than the unprepared souls living around them.
As always in my stories there is no foul language or sex though there is some violence.
My stories are only meant to provide an afternoon or evening of reading enjoyment. If when reading any story you find that an occasional grammatical error spoils your whole experience then you may wish to not read this story as I am sure some could be found within it despite my best efforts.

Typical Pete. No bad language, offensive sexuality, and such. Not a heavy read but doesn't bill itself as one. As long as Pete keeps churning them out I'll keep buying them. I would like to see what he could do with a longer, in-depth novel with more character development showing flawed humans who are still the good guys dealing with their limitations and overcoming in spite of their personal challenges. In baseball terms, Pete can always be counted on to get on base. I believe he is capable of hitting it out of the park and am eagerly looking forward to it.Product details

The story shows the benefits of neighborhood folks working together for mutual aid and protection. Also shows we need have the means to protect ourselves and our neighbors.
A nice, short synopsis of one of many variables associated with the true realities we as a Nation are facing.
Starts good, fizzles out. Would have liked to see more character development and less lecture type sections arbitrarily expressed without background or relevance to main characters. A decent read but not awesome.

Good story. Well written. I enjoyed the plot and character development, wished it was more in depth. I think a longer version of the story would have been more enjoyable.
Another solid prepped story from Mr Thorsen. I really enjoy the positive slant in his books. Some of the other authors writing in this genre goes overboard with all the doom and gloom stuff and sometimes forget to tell the story from the perspective of the common man.
